Iwa
STUDIO NOVE 3
Chairs and Poufs
Description
IWA, in Japanese, means rock.
From this image the concept of the armchair takes shape: an object that does not follow time, butmoves through it.
Studio Nove3 envisions IWA as a small architectural presence within the domestic space, inspired by the stones of Zen gardens. Still, essential elements that do not seek attention and, precisely for this reason, become inevitable. Not objects to be observed, but presences to live with.
The rock is a symbol of stability, balance and permanence. It is a fixed point around which everything changes. In the same way, IWA becomes a silent centre of the room: a place to pause, to rediscover one’s rhythm and allow oneself a moment of rest. Sitting becomes a simple and natural gesture, almost instinctive, like seeking a secure support.
IWA is not created to impress, but to endure.
Like a rock, it finds its strength in calm, in restraint, and in the ability to transform space without the need to move.
